Take a fairy-tale setting with beautiful mountains, clean air, and incredible vistas, add in an articlulate and arts-aware community where people care about and know the names of their neigbors, and then assemble a cadre of world-class authors, poets, artists and artisans and mix them altogether in the same place - only then can you approach the magic that was evident at the Carolina Mountains Literary Festival (CMLitFest) 2007. While it's only been in existence for two years, its artistic maturity belies its age. This is a story of people, place, and time, all of which are portrayed in the photos below. It is an honest attempt to preserve the memory of an enchanting encounter.
