For lovers of horse and avid students of American Revolutionary War history, this event had it ALL - beautiful weather, a pristine conference-site, world-class presenters, handsome riders and absolutely stunning horses. This was a joint effort by the Southern Campaigns of the American Revolution (SCAR), Wofford College, and the South Carolina Historical Society to shed light on the contribution of Cavalry forces in the fight for independence. European influences were adapted, and sometimes countered, by American dragoons who used horses in their own unique fashion to scout territory, carry messages swiftly from one battefield to another, and to wreak havoc among the enemy's infantrymen. This Photo Gallery catalogues the event by portraying a majority of the conference presenters, providing images of "place", and recording the presence of the American Patriots who gathered to participate.
