On a warm, bright afternoon in central North Carolina, a group of Revolutionary War reenactors, Color Guards, and a Drum and Fife Corps gathered to honor the Hero of the Southern Campaign - Major General Nathanael Greene. The city of Greensboro, NC, had commissioned a bronze statue of the General as part of its Bicentennial celebration. The sculptor, Jim Barnhill, himself a native of Greensboro, NC, crafted an impressive piece of metal to portray the man who gave his name to Greensboro, NC, and to a number of other like-named cities in the southern states. On March 26th, 2008, the sculpture was finally unveiled. This collection is a brief over-view of that ceremony.
